So many options. It can be totally confusing. Personally I think a destination wedding can be very romantic, but also gives you so many options again. I am not a planner, and stress out easily when arranging things for company, so we opted to marry in Vegas, so I say Vegas Baby!

We married this past May at Little Chapel of the Flowers, and the 14 people in attendance said it was a beautiful wedding, and one of the funnest locations to marry-everyone had entertainment!

Just go straight to Hawaii – if you are going anyway – there are wedding pros there. You can have a lovely beach wedding for a few hundred dollars. Pick a hotel that does weddings – it’s easy & use the FREE wedding coordinator that comes with the place.

I vote for Vegas too. Not only is it cool because of all the different theme weddings you can have but you can do destination weddings there as well (helicopter rides, Valley of Fire, Grand Canyon, etc). Also, if friends and family can’t afford to go, most wedding chapels and hotels in Vegas have webcams of your ceremony.

Check out Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii. My cousin got married there in the little church on the grounds. You can get married on the beach if you want or in the gazebo. Just talk to their wedding planners.

i say vegas baby. get it over with. thats what im about ready to do before i pull out my hair. wedding planning is stressful. if you can bypass all that and just do it, then i say go get it over with. im starting to see weddings are not about the couple, they are about you trying to impress everyone else. i have been back and forth with trying to impress everyone else but the next day when its over and they all go back to their lives and you start yours. sorry, just a little stressed right now. but yeah vegas. have fun!

Go to Vegas. You can get married there fast and easily. There is no waiting period, no blood test. Marriage bureau is open 24 hours 7 days a week to get your marriage license. You have to have a marriage license in order to get married. After you get your marriage license, you can choose any wedding chapel on the strip. Some of them as outrageous as a drive thru wedding, elvis wedding, country western wedding! All of these wedding themes are legit. Each wedding chapel has their own wedding package, call around and see the rates. Everything is set up and you can choose any themed wedding you like. I have heard of many vegas weddings, don’t have any religious ceremonies, unless you are asking for a priest or minister. Or you can do it the easy way and have a civil ceremony at the county clerk’s office for about $50+ dollars (for frugal people only). The civil ceremony is right across the street from the marriage bureau. Civil ceremony isn’t religious.
Don’t have a destination wedding because many people you are close to might not afford to fly to where you are having it, Don’t fly to hawaii for a wedding because you don’t know what you’re doing, just have your honeymoon there.

You can have a small wedding in Central Park. With a inexpensive permit, you are allowed to have a wedding with 20 people. You should be able to rent out a special part of the park without 100 other brides. After words, you can rent out a small party room in a resutrant. If it’s in your cost, rent a party bus… which will be large enough for your whole family! It can be less on the pricey side but include time with both your family.

I would go straight to Hawaii. Vegas for me will never be a good place to be married. its called sin city for a reason and i don’t want be married there. Unless its a rich old man i am going to take money form once he dies. NYC not a good idea b/c there aren’t many romantic places here. I live in NY and have seen the city inside out. I haven’t came across one place that would do this moment justice. I have not checked out the wedding garden at the queens botanical garden but i have seen the garden and naaaaaahhhh.. not there. Brooklyn botanical however has a very nice wedding garden but once you get out of the garden i hate the surroundings.. it will kill the romantic mood. so i think you should get married at a local chapel where you live and go to Hawaii immediately. like once you get out the chapel next stop should be the airport. Because all guests may not want to go to Hawaii.

Without a doubt the cheapest and most wonderful,beautiful and romantic way to get married is to take a cruise to the Caribbean and get married on the beach in the Caribbean. You can find great and inexpensive deals and the experience of the ship,etc is unbelievable. We did it last November and words cannot express the fun and beauty. For two tickets it was $1200 for 7 days. That included the room, unbelievable food, entertainment,etc. You will feel like a king and queen. The beauty of the Caribbean is beyond words. We went on Princess cruises,Eastern Caribbean. Good luck and best wishes…

Without guests, the hotels have good deals. When we were in Maui last summer, there were a few weddings there at the Hyatt Regency. It is a spectacularly amazingly beautiful place and I dont think the price is too steep for just you 2. Aloha!

I recommend option 3 – just fly to Hawaii and get married on the beach at sunset. First, you can spend your money on a really nice summer dress that you will wear again – not just a stupid wedding gown that goes under the bed for all eternity. Next, not that many people will be able to go, so only your closest friends and family will be there for you to entertain. The hotels provide all the planning — and all you have to do is show up and have fun. Casual. Easy. Romantic and memorable.
You may wish to have a reception or party when you get home, but you don’t have to.
Stay away from Vegas — it’s crowded, commercial, and expensive. Makes you feel like you’ve just had a roll in the mud, not a romantic getaway.

I live in vegas and they do have great wedding packages however I would pick hawaii….wedding by the beach is priceless…..if you know nothing about hawaii…then maybe you can go there for a pre wedding vacation with your man and check out the scene.

You have lots of great options and it’s completely up to you and your comfort level.

You can plan it yourself. This does take a lot of planning. If you are going very basic, just the two of you on a beach, all you really need is an officiant and photographer.

You can go with a resort like the Kahala, http://www.kahalaresort.com/weddings/weddings-social-events.cfm. They plan weddings routinely and have planners on staff. Also very pretty locations to wed.

You can choose a large non Hawaiian company such as Luxe. http://www.luxedestinationevents.com/ Even though they aren’t in Hawaii, they do many, many Hawaiian weddings and have vendors they use frequently. They are well respected in the destination wedding community.

Or you can choose a local wedding planner. They may have contacts that a non local company wouldn’t have. They also may be able to provide packages that aren’t available from non local companies.

NY is not very intimate… Vegas is ok if you go to a nice hotel (Venetian has some good packages), if you just want the two of you go to Hawaii and have your honeymoon (thats what I would do)

I had a vow renewal years ago in Kauai – I used a wonderful person over there, and I think that’s the way to go. Someone over there knows what’s happening everyday, knows people, places, and where to go, can tell you what the weather is like, describe things to you, advise you on everything, suggest alternatives, know some lower-cost vendors, etc., etc. Some of the resorts even will do this for free if you stay there & get married there

It’s like a tropical paradise,
Vegas is great for gambling and that’s about it, its dirty, and there’s hooker’s everywhere, everything smells like smoke, NYC is loud and always in a hurry,and extremely expensive.
Hawaii is calm and peaceful, a sunset marriage on the beach would be a moment you’ll never forget.

No Destination wedding please if you want your immediate family there to share in the happy day. My friend’s sister got married in Jamaica last year and it about caused 2 divorces. Her sister and husband couldn’t afford to go and her brother and his wife couldn’t either. Both siblings insisted on going and they are still paying for the trip. All of themn were so stressed at what the trip was costing them that they didn’t even have a good time. If you want to go somewhere exotic and get married, go. Then have a nice reception for friends and family when you get back home.

Access 5,400 3 to 5 star resorts and some of them cost as low as $149.00 (complete cost) for 7 days. The one time membership cost is also very affordable and has no additional fees for life. Oh, and you can share the benefits with your family and friends for life and its will-able.

Princess is the ONLY line where you can get married at sea. The ship’s captain or a member of clergy can perform the ceremony underway.

Royal Caribbean also has a wedding chapel on several of their ships, however weddings occur in port and you must bring in a member of the clergy to perform them.

On most other lines weddings may actually be done off the ship in a port of call.

Bottom line though, if you want to get married underway – Princess is the only way to go.

Don’t try and put this together by yourself, weddings are stressful enough. Call a travel agent who specializes in cruises to help you out. I recommend Cruise Planners http://www.mycruiseplanner.net 888-286-9827. They are very experienced, don’t charge additional fees (unlike the big online sites) and have the same deals as the cruise line and the online sites…

That can get pretty pricey if you’re there for that long. If you book through a corporate travel broker you can save TONS & stay at high quality hotels like Outrigger & Diamond Hotels & many more.

We just used an 8 day package from this broker & stayed at a 5 star beachfront condo resort in Maui which was gorgeous! We spoke to other couples who paid $350 per night at the same resort – we only paid $499 for all 8 days!

I HIGHLY recommend this site for super deals, plus they also offer Fun Passes for Oahu AND Maui which will let you do every attraction & special tour on the island for FREE! I included the links for all of these below, good luck!

RN2B makes a good recommendation – I organized a two week vacation for a group of 8, one week on Kauai and one on Maui. We took the Fodor’s Hawaii book and one other one, I forget which. We found them to be invaluable references when you don’t have a computer handy or are driving around.

On Maui, I’d recommend snorkeling in Molokini, if it’s the right season, maybe a whale watching trip. I would not advise the road to hana drive on your first visit. Maybe go to a luau. If you want to eat at a fancy restaurant, I highly recommend either of the Roy’s on Maui. I usually go to the Kihei one as it’s closer the timeshare I stay at.

I don’t think you can go wrong with either of your resort choices.

I would think that any new ships might have hte msot to do and be best. I think that Royal Caribbean, Carnival, or Celebrity would be the best for you to take. My advice go to cruise critic.com and research wedding cruises. They have great information on everything and tips and everything else.
