I was thinking of flying from Miami to Antigua for my honeymoon. Has anyone ever been there or have any thoughts? I was also just wondering if anyone had any other suggestions for honeymoons, either inside or outside of the U.S. I mainly want to stay around the ocean, either on a cruise or some sort of island or resort. My fiance and I were going to go to Maui, HI, but it turns out that the flights are too expensive for us to go now....Almost $1000 per ticket. What are some other nice get-a-ways that might not cost quite as much. We are looking into places like Jamaica or other places in the Caribbean. I am open to all suggestions.

Ok... We are getting married on August 29,2009 and neither of us have ever been on a cruise. We are looking for about 3-4 nights and the bahamas sound nice or the caribbean. The thing is we want an adult only cruise, I of course want something with romance and he wants to be able to gamble onboard. Where should we be looking and what are your thoughts of cruises? Okay, my fiance and I are looking at prospective honeymoons and we are now seriously considering a cruise.

My fiancée and I are getting married August 21, 2010. We want to go on a Carnival Cruise for our honeymoon which leaves from New York City August 23, 2010. We're both from Massachusetts and have never been to NYC. While we both agree it would be nice to spend the night extra night in the city we are unsure if we should just drive into the city, or fly from Albany Int Airport to JFK/Newark/LaGuardia and then take a taxi, or take the train, or rent a limo? Driving would be the least expensive but like I said we have never drove in NYC. My fiancée has never driven in any big city, and I have driven in Toronto, Chicago, and Boston.

Any suggestions??

We are booking our cruise for our honeymoon right now and we want to go with most efficient decision so we have extra money to spend. The interior room seems to be the best decision. But, the ocean view room is only 100 bucks more for both of us. I've been told that you can't see out the window anyways cause the salt sticks to it and makes it foggy. The balcony room is $400 bucks more each. But we'd be able to go out and see the ocean and stuff. And it won't be so claustrophobic. Is the room really that important? Since we'll be having so much fun on the ship?
And by the way thank you so much for the previous answers on whether or not to have my honeymoon on the cruise. I really appreciate the advice!

I've never been on a boat before, let alone a cruise, LOL. I went to Disney World once for 6 days and after 3 days I had seen enough and wanted to go home. Is a 14 day or 9 Australian/New Zeland cruise too long for a honeymoon? It's being offered by Celebrity Cruises. What heck you do on a ship for more than 2 weeks (besides the obvious;) ? Do you get off and stay on land in a hotel for a few days or what....TY.

I have tried this question before...but didn't have much luck before, so will try again.

My fiance and I are wanting to go on a Carnival Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon next October. I REALLY want to take pictures on the beach on one of our stops (St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Tortola, and Nassau). I cannot afford to pay a photographer to come from the US and fly to one of the locations (so that's out).

I just want some professional pictures at a very affordable price {like under $500 max}! I've tried to ask the cruiseline's photographers to do it...but haven't gotten a response yet! Anyone have any ideas?!?

Ok. Date is non-negotiable, it needs to be September 18 or 19 of 2010. MAYBE the 25 or 26. But nothing else. And really, I'd like Eastern/Southern carribean. I'm not very interested in Western.

I had originally planned Carnival Victory out of San Juan 9/19. I like the itinerary. But I read some really awful reviews about the Victory, and Carnival all together, and cancelled. I've looked at Royal Carribean(Seranade of the Seas), Princess(Emerald Princess), Norwegian (which has a brand new ship, Epic, sailing around the time I want.), and Celebrity (Celebrity Solstice) But IDK what to do. The airlines are telling me to change, I have to pay $150, which means I need to find a ship that sails out of San Juan the same day (which is only Royal Carribean.)

So is Royal any good? Did I make a mistake cancelling Carnival?
Or is it worth it to just spend the extra money, change the airline tickets, and pick something totally different? If so, which cruise line is the best?

This is for our honeymoon, so we're looking for a ship that has a lot to do on board, but also has a private/romantic feel. I'd really like to be able to have dinner just me and him rather than share a table. We're probably only getting a Balcony room, no suite, so the balcony needs to be private. And I heard Royal's balconies you can see the people above and below you while their on theirs.

Really, any experiences, good or bad, with any of these ships would be GREATLY appreciated! I feel like I'm losing my mind here.

PS- neither of us has EVER been on a cruise at all, so we have no idea what to expect really, or what we're doing.

My fiance & I are getting married June 14, 2009. And I want to book the Carnival Miracle Cruise in NY (where we live) to the Caribbeans (Puerto Rico, Grand Turks & St. Thomas) for June 17, 09. The price for the 2 of us will be $4,200 (Suite) for 8 days. Not including prepaid gratuities(160 pp), alcohol (we are not big drinkers), shopping, spa, & shore excursions & photos (which are all optional)

I figure you only get 1 honeymoon & i love everything on the ship..This is our first time cruising, but by checking some forums it seems expensive compared to most.

What is a reasonable amount to spend on your honeymoon?
