I keep hearing more about Destination weddings. What is the point?
Other than to be sure 'only the right people' come to your wedding.
Where I grew up, weddings are a community event. If my wedding was in Hawaii or where ever, so many of my friends would not have been able to be there.
What is the point....and WHY ON EARTH would anyone want to share their HONEYMOON with anyone?
It is supposed to be a time to get to know each other- or is that pointless since chances are the bride and groom have been sleeping together- and probably living together? What's the point of getting married then anyway?
I have a friend who has gotten TWO invites for destination weddings- and was informed she'd have to pay $2000 for the one in Hawaii...and $800 for a cruise. ( for two people)
Of course, that doesn't count the gift!
We now CHARGE for the privilege of attending a wedding?
Destination Weddings?

Any advice for destinations weddings!?
Need a little help with planning a destination wedding to Hawaii on a budget. Very small wedding, all couples. Maybe 8 guests total. Any advice? Share your experience... Should I use a certain web site? Or coordinator?
Please, anything will help!!!
Fun Destination weddings?
Does anyone know of some really fun destination wedding ideas. Nothing like Mexico, Vegas, or Hawaii though. Its going to be around 25 guests. Please help!! Thanks you guys
Did anyone do one of those destination weddings? Just the two of you in Hawaii on the beach?
Do you have any regrets about doing it this way? I am considering just going to Hawaii and getting married on the beach with my sweetie... I wish friends and family could come... but no one will really be able to. I would prefer a simple deal... and I like the idea of a sunset beach ceremony. We've been together for a long time and I've just never been into the whole big wedding thing anyway. What do you think?
Weddings in Hawaii – have you been to one or had one? Let me know.?
Hey there, just wondering... Hawaii seems like a beautiful destination to get wed at. I am from Australia and was curious about Hawaii weddings - how much do they cost, how are they orgainised, and personal reflections. It would be great if I can see some photos from your wedding in Hawaii (if that does apply to you).
Thanks in advance.
Desination Weddings, pro’s and con’s?
I'm trying to decide if a Destination Wedding is the right choice for my fiance and I. Apparently some places that offer it, the US doesn't recognise that country's marraige liscense then you have to redo it once your back. And I'm looking for people who have done it. Is the paperwork a hassle? Does the wedding planner handle the majority of it? I really just want to sit back and relax once we get there and not stress that everything will be in order.
It will be only the two of us going. Like I said, I want to relax.
But I'm also weighing the option of a small ceremony here then hopping on a plane the next day.
The reason it's only the groom & I is we don't want the hassle of inviting several guests. Also it seems weddings now seem to be based on making everyone else happy, and impressing others. I want our day to be exactly that, "OURS". I'm not interested in paying for other people to have a good time...it's not their day. Just my opinion and that's why we've decided a destination wedding would be the best for us.
Destination Weddings in India?
India, particularly the states of Goa and Rajasthan, has become extremely popular as a wedding destination for visitors. The excitement and ambiance of getting married in a far away place can be very appealing. Hence I want a good Wedding Planner for Destination Weddings in India.
How would I go about looking up destination weddings?
My fiance and I want to avoid all the stress of planning a reception, so we figured we would like to have a destination wedding. We were thinking about Hawaii, Vegas, Colorado, or Napa Valley because we have to stay in the U.S. because he's in the Air Force during war time. Any tips would be great!
Does anyone know any good wedding planners for weddings in Turkey please?
My fiance and i are looking to get married in Turkey (i would ideally like icmeler or amos bay or kumlubuk as a location). I'm finding it hard to find a company that can help with these destinations as most places can only offer packages and are not flexible on location etc. Have any Brits been married in this area of Turkey and how did you go about it??? Thanks x
